feeder busy all day long sometimes 4 in a row chasing each other. I just sat down on porch to watch a fresh batch of sugar water when I noticed a migrant male around 6pm. The dominant female at our feeder beat the poor guy up for around a minute or so. You could tell she was determined and wasn't going to give up. He never did get a sip and didn't return the rest of the eve.
while watering the lawn a little I had a nice encounter as one hummer was partaking in the stream of water out the end of the garden hose... just like the kids!
