I'm amazed at how quickly the hummingbirds left. I haven't seen a male for a week but the females were loading up on food. We had the hurricane approaching but it stayed off shore. I saw several hummingbirds yesterday before the storm and the level went down on both feeders. Today I haven't observed any. I'm wondering if the ones I saw yesterday were travelers who were staying inland enough (we're about 15 miles from the ocean)to escape the weather.
