For 3 months I have had hoards of hummers sucking the nectar as fast as I could fill up their 3 feeders. Unfortunately, they never stayed still long enough so I could get an accurate count of them. I was buying sugar in the 50 pound bag and making about a gallon a day to satisy their hunger and my obsessive delight in observing them from my kitchen window.
But, last night, the temperature got down around 50 so there are only a few fellas at the feeders, so farr. I counted 10. Yet, yesterday, I must have had about 50-60 at one time. Maybe the others are still in the nest with the covers up over their beaks.
Still watching....
