They danced two high notes on dawn's chill air, one old gold, one orange tawny bright, as they sipped garden flower dew. Later, another young and new, windsliped south above a busy road. Tonite in search of Monarch gold, I rode through wind ripped trees, remembering past flights of Monarchs in a this once beautiful grove. The sun set, below red hemmed clouds of lavendar, as I watched for the shimmer of orange gold wings. Treasure tonight? Taking delight in a farmers punkin field! Beneath green tangled vines and dying leaves, shy green pumpkins blush tawny, beginning to smolder into great glowing nuggets. Observation time: today - daily - dawn to dusk!
