still visited by the remaining ruby throated hummingbird female early this morning, as usual.
by afternoon i realised she had left! always a presence at the feeders and flowers... the sound of her activities was no longer to be heard in the usual places... by early evening it was certain... the last of the resident hummers has left.
we will keep the feeders up for visitors passing through...
