No large numbers reported (some people have mentioned groups of up to 15 in rural areas in August). However, over the past 2 weeks and especially this 1st week of September, I & others have seen them daily, most just drifting around, but several seemed to be deliberately heading south despite strong SW winds.

From 05 - 07 September, I was in mostly urban/suburban areas in the west end of Ottawa and I would say that when the sun was out (and when I was out!) I saw one fly by approx. every 15 - 30 minutes.
