I got so excited to see this again this summer, as last year was my first year to witness this. I counted approx. 70 in a hour. I was on the beach at Assateague Island, MD which is the Atlantic Ocean. They travel down the Eastern Shore of VA, which is interesting as they will have to cross the Cheseapeake Bay to get to the mainland of VA. So it's really exciting to witness such an event. I am heading back this weekend and hope to see more. Thanks. My observation time: I was watching for 2 hours.
