Monarch Adult Sighted

Date: 09/08/2010

Number: 1

We released two monarchs we had raised in the classroom and then at that same time saw 20 other monarch butterflies fly through the area we have that will be our outdoor classroom. The kids said, "Our monarchs will have buddies to fly to Mexico with." Our school was remodeled last summer and our old outdoor classroom(which was a very large area and a great site to see butterflies) is where our new kitchen is so we'll be creating a new outdoor classroom in what is now a courtyard area, we are going to try to be considered as a Monarch way station once our plants are growing again. My observation time:1:25 PM - 1:45, we were watching for 0 hours and 20 minutes.
