Hummingbird Sighting

I am rather new at watching the hummers. As I have stated before this year we put in a fenced garden for the hummingbirds, with 12 ft fences encasing caps turk and trumpet creepers. We have quite a menagerie of wild life. (Squirrels, rabbits, orioles, woodpeckers, cardinals, mockingbirds, etc)

I have a question...We have one very small-baby-female hummer (we know we had two sets of breedings with the hummers).

She has dominated the feeder (it hangs on a steel rod) in front of our kitchen window. She has been sitting on the rod over the feeder for the past 2 days. Today makes the 3rd. She will not let any other hummer come in for a drink. There is another feeder out in the garden, and there are times she will even fly out there to shoo them away and then fly back to her perch. We are going to hang some more feeders, but we are not understanding what she is doing. Can anyone tell us why she is doing this? Thanks
