Monarch PEAK Migration

Date: 09/08/2010

Number: 1

Today is a beautiful sunny day, low 70s F with light and variable winds. It's about 2:00 p.m. and I'm seeing lots of Monarchs migrating across the Iowa State campus, heading generally south-southwest at a rate of about 60 per hour. This is the first day that I've seen more than just a few, either roosting or migrating.
