The Monarch Monitoring Project (MMP) is a research and education Project of New Jersey Audubon’s Cape May Bird Observatory
in Cape May Point, NJ. Established in 1990, our program focuses on the fall migration of monarch butterflies along the Atlantic coast.
The 2010 season is underway and we will be reporting for the next two months. Anecdotal accounts from around the Northeast this summer have reported low numbers of monarchs. However, Jenny H this years MMP Field technician observed an average of 21.83 monarchs per hour on the first week of our road census.
