3 days ago, I observed 3 hummingbirds. Two kept trying to feed at the 2 feeders, while one kept "guard" and was chasing the others. The one keeping guard (a female) was extremely "fat". Yesterday, I only observed 1 hummer during the day, but late afternoon more appeared. 2 were much slimmer than those previously observed and were sharing a feeder while spending a lot of time feeding. Toward dusk, 2 more hummers showed up and I observed chasing going on. We had a north wind yesterday and perhaps that encouraged some to head south. Today, so far, I have only observed 1 hummer.
