Monarch Fall Roost

Date: 09/10/2010

Number: 200

Tonight at approximately 6:30 p.m. EDT scores of monarchs were flying through our yard and roosting in three trees in 2 of our neighbour's yards. One was a large maple tree the others were walnuts. All three were bathed in sunlight from the setting sun and the sight was spectacular! Hundreds of monarchs roosting together.

Editor’s Note: We are estimating a minimum of 200 monarchs based on observer’s estimate of “hundreds.”
