Monarch Fall Roost

Date: 09/10/2010

Number: 500

I deliver mail in Marion, Iowa and today i noticed an extraordinary sight concerning monarchs. They were flying everywhere and when i noticed an evergreen tree that was about 50 ft high and the monarchs had absolutely covered the tree. It was absolutely beautiful and I am thinking that they had to be migrating to Mexico. IT WAS AWESOME!!!!! My observation time: I was watching for __6_ hours.

Editor's Note: This observer did not specify the number of monarchs present. We entered '500' in the number field based on observer’s “monarchs had absolutely covered the tree”
