Signs of Fall

Date: 09/11/2010

Number: 1

Spotted the return of the red breasted nut hatch at my sunflower feeder this morning. Last week the return of a few chickadees. Yellow biting beetles on the south side of house. One lonely male cardinal at sun flower feeder one day, gone again. Waiting on the return of all the cardinals females and males when their breeding season is over. Squirrels pruning the tips of the oak leaves branches getting to the acorns on the outer limbs. Blue jays high up in the oaks eating and dropping acorns. Cat bird or birds I get every year left this past week. Very few sightings of the robins. Ground moles very active this time of year making runs all over the fields. Tree frogs still noisy at night.
