Monarch PEAK Migration

Date: 09/11/2010

Number: 1

I hardly ever see Monarchs anymore. Today I was dropping my son off at work and I saw a huge one fluttering around my truck. As I drove to the grocery store (about 4 miles away), going towards home, I saw so many Monarchs. Most were in small groups and noticing them I began counting. I saw 55 in 4 miles. I also stopped at Home Depot and there were 3 in the garden center. I was so amazed. I was sad today with the anniversary of 9/11. It was such a welcome surprise on this day. My observation time: I was watching for ___ hours and ___ minutes.
