Hummingbird Sighting

Date: 09/12/2010

Number: 1

2 females are still around and coming to the window feeders. I know they are 'mine' because they actually perch on the Perky Pet window feeders and don't hover. Newcomers always hover until they see what a protected position they have with the combination of the roof overhang and the feeder being onthe side window of a large bay. The majority of the flock left on 9/2 including the territorial female who guarde 'her' feeder from the hook over the nearby fushia plant. I wondered if she would be so habit driven that she would stay to the end - no - instead she was one of the first to head south.
