Hummingbird Sighting

Date: 09/11/2010

Number: 1

"Old birds" - the ones that have been here for a week or so are quite fat and established at feeders. Newcomers go to phlox at first, then join the wrangle at the feeders in a day or two. The interactions are not quite as intense as last week.
Still, we have had two window strikes in spite of the windows being plastered with post its notes and cling-on plastic leaves... fortunately there were no injuries. All the birds are females or juveniles.
