Hummingbird Sighting

Date: 09/13/2010

Number: 1

Two hummers here late this afternoon; one is a migrant because we've only had females these last couple of weeks, and this one is a juvie male with a red spot on his throat. He had a great time having a bath in the water from my hose as I was watering my flower border. He'd fly in and out, turning around, sitting on a salvia and stretching out his wings to the water. He bathed for at least a full minute. First time I've had this experience!
