Hummingbird Sighting

Date: 09/13/2010

Number: 1

Well, there has been an exodus from Clay! I now only have 4 or 5 females left. They are furiously feeding and still taking time to squabble with each other but the constant mixing of bird food has stopped. I have two feeders still going and one is close to being empty. They hang around all day, and come in at sundown to fill up for the night. We have had a few nights in the 40's so Mother Nature is urging them on and the sun now sets about 7:30. The days are still warm, in the 70's, but I expect everyone to have moved south by the next few weeks..
