Sat. Sept. 4 Kathy and I went to Uvalde from Utopia.
On the way south down 187 to Sabinal I saw a couple Monarchs, southbound more or less. Then along=20 Old Sabinal Rd which runs west to Uvalde south of Hwy. 90, we saw 3 more Monarchs cross the road fairly perpendicular southbound and on the move.
Then we walked around the Uvalde Nat. Fish Hatchery for an hour and change. We had a few Monarchs there, two were nectaring: one on Marsh Fleabane, the other on Purple Bindweed, both un-genetically modified. One pale whitish it was so worn. Then at Cook's Slough we saw at least 2 perhaps three more Monarchs, all moving south to southwest.
