In the afternoon of Monday, September 6 we found hundreds of butterflies on our oak and mulberry trees. We watched them for over an hour. We went back later in the afternoon and they were still there. A thunderstorm came around 5:30 pm and the butterflies were gone. My observation time: I was watching for _4__ hours and ___ minutes.
Editor’s Note: We are estimating a minimum of 200 monarchs based on observer’s estimate of “hundreds.”
