We had our biggest "fall out" today. Some showers moved in from the Gulf, out of the south to the west down to Corpus and from noon on the backyard filled with Ruby-throated Humming birds. Forty to fifty hummers were at the feeders but more interesting was watching them feeding at the Turk's cap, curassavica, lantana, penta, and zinna ... all afternoon. Watching the penta or curassavica moving when there was no wind and then a hummer pop up was really a reward for us and I really think for them. The feeders were just swinging at times when seven or eight were fighting or leaving at the same time. Should peak here on the TX midcoast this weekend depending on the weather!
