About 3pm a large flock/swarm of mixed butterflies & dragonflies came from the ocean and landed on the island. My normal "density" of Monarchs at peak migration is about 20 in the yard (60x90 ft)at a time. The swarm reached densities of over 200 in the yard and in surrounding areas up to 100 yards in all directions before dispersing over a 45 minute time frame to roosts. I identified mostly Monarchs with about 10% of other species - mostly Painted Ladies & Buckeyes. There were also Crescents or Fritillaries & possibly some Coppers & Brown Elfins. I saw one male Tiger Swallowtail. My observation time: I was watching for _2__ hours and ___ minutes.
