We are finding Monarch eggs and caterpillars on the milkweed here in the Atlanta area. (I haven't actually seen an adult butterfly, myself). The kids at school are having a wonderful time raising the caterpillars and looking forward to sending them on their way. But, why are we getting caterpillars here? Shouldn't the Monarchs be in diapause? Are these not from the north? Are these not going on to Mexico? My observation time: I was watching for ___ hours and ___ minutes.
