Monarch PEAK Migration

Date: 09/17/2010

Number: 1

No roosting since the very windy day reported previously, but the butterfly gardens here at the Nature Center are full of Monarchs. It's not unusual to see 40-50 of them at any given time. Our gardens are heavily stocked with Butterfly Bush - mostly the dark purple ones - and they are certainly a magnet for Monarchs.

I've been tagging, but I'll run out soon - makes me wish I had ordered more tags. We also have 22 chrysalis' hanging in the Nature Center that should emerge in the next week. My observation time: I was watching for ___ hours and __30_ minutes.
