since last reporting on the 10th, I continue to see what I now believe to be a juvenile male or female. It has a white spot behind the eye and the tips of the tail on at least 3 feathers are white. However the gorget is getting more color all the time.
The same adult male has returned and both come to the feeder throughout the day now. I watched them facing off the other evening. Adult male would not let the other come to the feeder.
Adult male flashed his gorget at the other and juvie stood its ground. Whole scenerio lasted a couple of minutes with juvie finally leaving.
