Monarch Adult Sighted

Date: 09/18/2010

Number: 1

I observed a lone female today flying around my milkweed. She laid a few eggs that I could see while I was out there. I've been "rescuing" the caterpillars and putting them into rearing cages to protect them from the many wasps we have here. Although, we haven't seen a lot of Monarchs they have been here as a result of the number of caterpillars I have on the milkweed. We've probably got over 200 at this point. It would be nice it Journey North had some kind of way of tracking how many people rescue and release. I'm sure the ones we will be releasing will migrate to Mexico. My observation time: I was watching for ___ hours and 15 minutes.
