After an onslaught of hummingbirds vying for space on our small feeder last week, we're down to only 4-6 sightings per day. One large hummingbird has taken over our feeder, and doesn't let the smaller birds perch and feed. Last week, there were at least 12-20 birds trying to perch and feed at the same time, and now we're down to only a few little birds stopping by each day. We're keeping our feeder up and filled, though, so the little fellows can get some much-needed nectar for quick energy on their long journery.
