I was surfing in the afternoon off of the north end in Virginia beach...I noticed 2 monarchs gliding on the wind headed south out over the breakers. My observation time: I was watching for __2_ hours.

I was coming out of the ocean from surfing...there was a 30 mph wind coming from the north...I observed at least 10-12 monarchs pass over my head while out in the ocean....once i was done surfing and came back over the dunes I witnessed at least 11 monarchs hanging around several pine trees behind the dunes trying to keep out of the strong wind. My observation time: I was watching for _0__ hours and __5_ minutes.
