the second of our Monarch caterpillars emerged yesterday- this time a male. He was more active in the enclosure and decided to spend his evening at the bottom of the tank.
this morning was a bit warmer than yesterday when our 1st butterfly was released. When we opened the top of the enclosure he fluttered out and landed on our hands. We took pictures for a few minutes and then he flew off over the front lawn, across the street, and up into the neighbors trees until we could no longer see him. My observation time: I was watching for 0 hours and 15 minutes.
