Monarch PEAK Migration

Date: 09/18/2010

Number: 1

I was very lucky to witness the mass migration on Saturday, Sept. 18. We went to Corson's Inlet State Park in Strathmere, NJ. It is located at the very end of Ocean City. We arrived at 7:45am. The air was still brisk, but as the sun warmed the grasses and shrubs, the monarchs lifted out of the dunes like magic! I didn't get very good photos, but I did take some video! We estimated that we saw several thousand monarchs between 7:45am and 10:30am. It was an amazing morning that I feel so privileged to have witnessed! My observation time: I was watching for __2_ hours and _45__ minutes.
