A friend who is also a scientist observed a Monarch in her garden last weekend in Wellfleet, MA (outer Cape Cod). She also relayed to me yesterday that she is watching a Monarch crysalis that is hanging under one of the branches of her garden plants. Isn't this late for that stage to be present? Anyway, she is watching for it to start turning darker and will let me know when a butterfly emerges.

She also saw a female hummingbird last weekend, same location. My observation time: I was watching for ___ hours and ___ minutes.

No official observation time, just noticed the butterfly.
