Signs of Fall

Date: 09/23/2010

Number: 1

Had a flock of blackbirds passing thru landing in my 100 year old oak trees dropping acorns like crazy. Didn't stay long 10 minutes and left on their journey. Elm trees and nut trees starting to turn yellow. Chipmunks still at ground feeders filling their pouches and returning for more daily. Numerous squirrels at my ground feeders. Mother squirrel that lives in my maple tree off my deck had brought her 4 new babies down from the hole under the tree they were all playing and wrestling with one another having a good old time. Then she brought them to the ground feeders introducing them to sunflower seeds. See and her babies are a gray squirrels, the mother is handicapped with one squinted eye and very unstable with her balance sitting upright is very hard for her to do without loosing her balance. She's a good mother thou.
