I was amazed to see a hummer today as it's been 5 days since my last sighting. This one spent an hour flitting about the garden visiting the few flowers that survived Hurricane Earl's wrath. I think it may have been a transient as it made no attempt to drink from any of the 3 feeders that the regulars used all summer long. This is my first year in this community and I have no idea how long the hummers are seen here, but I wouldn't be surprised if this was my last sighting of the year.
