Hummingbird Sighting

Date: 09/23/2010

Number: 1

Still have two hummers, both ate from the same feeder at least once today. some frolicing, but with three feeders and two birds there is not much to fight about. The one juvy or female sits in the tree and perches to watch the feeder. I think the other hummer comes a distance to our feeder because I can see it fly in and fly out across a field across the lane from us.

These are very curious hummers, they often buzz the screen on the screenhouse where we watch them from. The one hummer also chooses to privately feed on the feeder behind a single skinny branch rising from the bush next to the feeder. The syrup is disappearing so they are feeding a lot considering there are only two of them that we have seen together.
