Monarch PEAK Migration

Date: 09/24/2010

Number: 1

An awesome day of Monarch migrators! For a 3 hour period...from 1:30-4:30pm, I counted 128 arrive from the north and nectar in our gardens before moving on. There are 2 more days when the winds will be northerly...9/28 and 9/30, so time will tell if today was the peak day or not. However, a note of reference is that today, 9/24 was the same day in 2008 it was the peak here too! Last year the peak day was the 19th. The Monarchs are right on time...So cool!!! :D My observation time: I was watching for 3 hours.
