Six Monarchs seen on one butterfly bush today. The most in one spot so far this season. Temperature in the low 90s. Monarch caterpillars still feasting on my garden milkweed. So far no metamorphosis seen, but large caterpillars have been seen crawling away from the milkweed so I am assuming they will be completing their metamorphosis out of my sight. A friend (5 miles from here) has at least 21 chrysalises in her garden right now and is watching constantly. She has found split chrysalises so some have already completed the process. My observation time: I was watching for __3_ hours and ___ minutes.
