Hummingbird approached a feeder on our deck about noon while I was watering flowers with a hose. When I turned around, it appeared startled to see me, since we had been away more than a week, and quickly turned away and flew into tree. I was unable to determine sex. I'm not a teacher, but a homeowner who enjoys birds and Journeys North and South.
