Just wanted to share that between 1:00 and 1:40 p.m. we (a group of homeschoolers) tagged 19 Monarchs at the foot of the east side of the Blue Ridge Mountain in VA, about 2 miles South of the Potomac/Harper's Ferry area. We saw more than 30 Monarchs in a field of goldenrods, then they were suddenly gone with the exception of one or two sailing by. Some of them headed S/SW through the forest beyond the field, some flew up high towards the treetops.
