Saw two hummers battling today when I put out new food. I looked for them yesterday to decide whether to put out more food, but it was raining and they were not to be seen. I sat on the screen porch next to the feeder this morning and one showed up to tell me that it needed food. I took the two feeders, cleaned them and put them out and within a few minutes they were battling again. I only made a small batch, but I will likely have to make more. It is not supposed to get cold here for a while. It will be 60s over the weekend, but I don't think that will be too cold to for them. time will tell I guess, last year they departed on the 22nd of sept and it is already the 29th this year and they do not appear to be planning to leave. they are acting pretty much normal.
