Today several of my 11th graders arrived to my classroom with a present for me. They had found a monarch on the soccer courts. It wasn't able to fly when they found it, so they brought it to me to see if I could resuscitate it. To their surprise, I was actually able to do it!. It rained a bit here last night and the poor male monarch was still damp. I blew on it a little and warmed it in my hands and he started to fly. We took it outside and let it go. The kids were amazed as the butterfly took off in the direction of the reserves to the west! My observation time: I was watching for ___ hours and ___ minutes.
