A hummer came into our school building this morning because we had the doors open for a period of time. It went toward the bright fluorescent lights and stayed near them. Our custodian held up a broom and kept it still. The hummer went down and landed on the broom tips. Slowly the custodian moved toward the doorway which was bright with the morning's sunlight. It flew back to the light and the process had to be begun again. Finally, the hummer stayed on the broom long enough to go outside. It flew away into the nearby woods.
