Every summer I raise monarch caterpillars. What started out as a meager season turned into my busiest. Eighty-five monarchs left Rice, VA after having spent a successful time in captivity. (I run a very nice butterfly hotel). I collected a total of 216 caterpillars and lost many of them to wasp parasites before and during the chrysalis stage.
