Monarch (OTHER Observations)

Date: 09/29/2010

Number: 1

Here is an update that I promised if one of my late crysalist hatched. Well, at 1:45 PM today, I had one emerge. I intend to put my own tag on the hindwing and see if the monarch makes it to Mexico. It took 20 days for it to emerge at which time the temperatures were in the mid-40s to low 70sF. I plan on letting it go at 7PM, because the temperature will be 61F., with lows in the 50s in the morning. The next day it will be into the 60s again, but we have a forecast of only steady 40s this weekend. It is a male, and I hope the little guy makes it! Lat-44.65.
