In the meadow on the ridge above my house I saw 14 monarchs fly by as they paused to feed on goldenrod blossoms. I watched for about 90 minutes. One monarch spent the entire time dining next to me as I stood in the middle of the goldenrod. I hope they can find shelter when tropical storm Nicole moves through the area tomorrow. My observation time: I was watching for _1__ hours and __30 minutes.
