We saw many monarchs, as many as 25+ flying around the Fire Island National Seashore. All were active and feeding on the abundant wild flowers and flying in generally a southerly direction. That day was clear and warm with a very slight breeze, temperatures in the mid to high 70's Since then we have had rough weather including heavy rain and winds. I have not had a chance to get back to the beach to look for them. I have not seen any around my home in Huntington, NY My observation time: I was watching for _2__ hours and _30__ minutes.
