Signs of Fall

Date: 09/29/2010

Number: 1

We are an after school program in Saint Paul, We spent some time observing the signs of fall in the front yard of the school.

Things we saw
A chicken of the woods mushroom – lumpy and yellow, parts which are white
Ugly ant
Different colored leaves
Leaves falling

Things we think we saw:
A white squirrel
A black dog
A bald eagle
A bird
A crow
A cloud that looks like a clown

Things we counted
12 fuzzy sticks on the ground
2 pine trees- which are green
14 trees in the front of our school, some lost their leaves and other still had all of their leaves
20 leaves on the ground
30 twigs on the ground

Things we wondered about:
When the first flake will fall?
If more vines will grow on the school?
When it will get very, very cold?
How do leaves fall?
