Monarch PEAK Migration

Date: 10/02/2010

Number: 1

We went to Alexandria yesterday and today and saw Monarchs constantly. As we traveled into town, we would see one after another flutter across the highway. In Alex, we would see one or two at a time, one after another, flying over the parking lots and fields. We probably saw about 50 going and coming back home yesterday and we saw around 25 this morning. They were heading west and southwest.

I have many gulf fritillaries because I grow a passion vine just for that purpose. I really think we saw monarchs. I had one in the yard this afternoon, also. If another comes through, I will send you a picture so we can confirm it.
