It's starting to get pretty cold here. We are expecting this falls first frost tonight. I was afraid yesterday's sighting was going to be my last, but from my window I just saw a hummingbird enter the yard. It landed on the fence and then started feeding on salvia "Hot Lips".
I have observed that in the summer the hummingbirds are in the yard mostly in the evening. Then in the fall (now) they are in the yard in the afternoon and evening.
